Student Life
CHAPEL SERVICES
Life Christian School provides chapel services for our elementary students every Wednesday. Chapel services are held for all students 6th – 12th grade every Wednesday. While the format of each chapel varies, students generally are provided a charismatic and contemplative time of worship, followed by teaching provided by an LCS staff member or guest speaker.
STUDENT COUNCIL
Life Christian High School has an elected Student Council that develops leadership skills while planning activities for the entire student body. The Council consists of a Student Body President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and a representative from each grade level. Activities planned by the Student Council include Spirit Week, Spring Formal, High School Retreat, and monthly student fellowship opportunities.
TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCE
In High School, we offer the chance to be a part of the Science Team. The Science Team takes part in the MATE underwater robotics competition every year. Students in the Science Team also travel to local elementary schools to conduct educational outreach and teach about their robot and the process of its creation. Lastly, the Science Team hosts four "Science Nights" each school year in which the elementary students are invited to engage in scientific experiments and learning.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
The Life Christian School National Honor Society is part of a national organization that recognizes and encourages academic achievement, character development, service, and leadership. This is a huge distinction that students will carry with them into the future. The National Honor Society is proud to include students who maintain standards of excellence in the areas of scholarship, citizenship, leadership, service to community and school, and character. Students complete yearly individual service projects and an annual club service project.
YEARBOOK
Students can take Yearbook as an elective. This class works to create the yearbook for the entire school. They work tirelessly to capture the important moments for each grade. Students are also involved with many of the extracurricular activities to take the pictures and write memories.
ACADEMICS
Students of all ages are provided with opportunities to explore their own interests, inside and outside of the classroom. Students in elementary participate in "Mad Science", 5th grade students have the opportunity to attend Biz Town every year, and 4th through 12th grade students have the chance to attend the Oregon Writing Festival at PSU each year.
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
Life Christian School offers two trips to middle school and high school students each year. In 2020, 7th through 9th grade students went to Washington, D.C. and New York through EF Explore America and 10th through 12th grade students went to England and Ireland.
