Superintendent's Message

Warmest greetings,

As an accredited educational institution, Life Christian School (LCS) serves the Westside Portland (Beaverton, NW Portland, Aloha, Hillsboro, Tigard, Forest Grove) metro area with a distinctive Christian Education. It is our goal that our students graduate trained to reach their God-given destinies. Our culture is to provide educational excellence where students are prepared to engage their career or college choices environmentally, academically, spiritually and athletically.

I am particularly thankful that over the past 18 years a unique partnership has developed between families, churches and businesses in the LCS community.  This partnership has allowed us to harness the power of community on behalf of our student’s education. LCS is blessed to be able to continue on this foundation, which is based on the legacy of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Thank you for visiting our website. If, in your exploration, you have questions, please feel free to contact our staff. We are ready to serve you in providing the best Christian Education possible to your student.

Principal's Journal

It is my honor to be the new principal of Life Christian School and also education pastor/member of Life Church of Greater Portland.
God has steered my journey to this appointment with such skill and precision there is no way I can say I got here on my own and independent of the Potter’s hands. Because of that, I come to the community knowing I have a great responsibility to do my best to guide teachers, students and the community in assuring our children leave our school with the ability to be bright, passionate, educated and Godly young men and women.
I build my leadership premise on 2 Timothy 2:15: “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
Max Lucado recently said that we have to “hold ourselves to a higher standard if we’re going to be leaders and if we’re going to be Christians” and that as leaders we have to be “held to a higher standard, especially Christian leaders”. It is our job at LCS to train our students to be Christian leaders who, when placed into secular or religious situations will not pass judgment but represent Him and walk in the manner prescribed in the New Testament.
I have heard several of my students, both past and present, who are not Christian, remark that they might have been Christians if people spoke and acted like the Jesus they have read about, even in passing.
Thus, we have a job to do. We need to help children become the best they can be academically, children who have the skills to be servants, whether that be among family and friends, in their community, at the job site, and/or the mission field.
We will build on the foundation established in the Bible and by the founding of this church and school, and add sound business and educational practices guided by prayer and the Word.
I look forward to bringing my 25 plus years in the classroom, newsroom, and college environment to LCS and lead with complete surrender to God’s call and opportunities not only for our students, but our community and world as we walk out, by faith, as his ambassadors.

Education Pastor/Principal of Life Christian School

Mission, Values, Purpose, and Beliefs

Our MISSION at LCS is to provide an environment such that our students will learn how to be ``IN`` the world not ``OF`` the world by providing a culture where students can be transformed by God and in turn transform the world around them.

Life Christian School adopts the historic, Christian view of life as presented in the Bible. Since God created and sustains everything through His Son, Jesus Christ, the world and life are God-centered and should glorify Him. Man being a sinner by nature and choice, however, cannot in this condition glorify or know God. He can do this only by being recreated in God’s image through committing his life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The total process of education, therefore, must seek this restoration of student to the position of true knowledge, righteousness, and holiness in Christ by developing and relating the whole person to God spiritually, mentally, socially, and physically. It must present all truth as God’s truth and must be integrated with God’s Word. Such education is first the parents’ responsibility, and second, the school should function as an extension of the home to aid the parents in giving this education. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9).

  • To create students of influence who reflect Christ to those around them in their daily lives.
  • To promote interest in pursuing positions of leadership as an increased platform of such influence.

  • To develop students who make moral choices based upon biblical principles.
  • To develop students who evaluate societal issues through a worldview based upon Christ.

  • To cultivate personal disciplines of prayer, bible study, and service in each student.
  • To discover and develop each student’s role in the body of Christ based upon the development of their spiritual gifting.

  • To develop students who possess proficiency or mastery in core academic areas and are prepared for post-secondary education.
  • To promote a culture of participation in quality activities focused on the maturation of the child physically, spiritually, and mentally.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by indwelling the Christian, enabling him or her to live a Godly life. (Acts 1:4-8, Galatians 5:16-26)
We believe in the full deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood. His death on the cross paid the full penalty for our sins. (Luke 1:35, John 1:1-18, John 14:1-11, Acts 1:1-11, Acts 2:22-39, Hebrews 10:8-10).
We believe the sixty-six books of the Bible to be the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:20-21)
We believe that there is one God, Who is unchanging and is eternally existent in three co-equal and co-eternal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (John 14:15-18)
We believe in Christ’s bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal, physical return in power and glory. (Luke 1:35, John 1:1-18, John 14:1-11, Acts 1:1-11, Acts 2:22-39, Hebrews 10:8-10)
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (II Corinthians 5:1-11)
We believe that heaven and hell are definite places. (Matthew 5:22, Luke 12:5, John 14:1-6, Hebrews 9:27)
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 17, Ephesians 2:14-22)
