Mr. Behrens was born in northeast Portland but grew up in, what was then, farm country in Clackamas County.  After being a member of the first four year graduating class of Rex Putnam High School, he attended Portland State University, Multnomah University, Calvary Bible College, and George Fox University.  He has a B.A. in Pastoral Theology and a M.A.T. in Education.  Before coming to Life Christian in 2007 to teach Bible, he was a missionary to rural America in places like Buttermilk, Kansas, Garden Valley, Idaho, Beaver, Oregon, and Sumas, Washington, and taught at Nampa Christian High School and Crossroads Christian School.   He is married to Patricia, and they have five children and thirteen grandchildren.  He enjoys reading and researching theological issues and going on an occasional vacation with Patricia.  His secret offense is that he plays the accordion.  When he’s not speaking at churches on the weekends, he attends Good Shepherd Community Church.
