Mr. Matt Hilgaertner teaches high school math and leadership, and serves as the Guidance Counselor and assistant varsity soccer coach. A native of Southern CA, he has two younger sisters and grew up playing a variety of sports and musical instruments. He also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys practice every summer at training camp near his house. Mr. Hilgaertner lives currently in Tigard with his wife and best friend, Kris, their two amazing sons, CJ and Johnny, and a boxer named Bella. He graduated from Whitworth University (math & secondary education) and Princeton Seminary (practical theology), and currently attends Reformed Seminary (missional leadership). He has been teaching for 20 years in schools and churches, including two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the West Indies, and has led several missions’ trips to Mexico and Africa. Mr. Hilgaertner is also an ordained pastor and church planter, and is passionate about the gospel of Jesus Christ and raising up leaders for the harvest. Two of his favorite Bible passages are Matt. 28:18-20 and Eph. 4:11-16. He loves the students and staff at LCS, and is grateful to God for calling him to be a part of this wonderful community and ministry. Go Lions!
